BORNER'S BARBER COLLEGE
1. You may cancel your contract for school, without any penalty or
obligation the first day of the class session
or seven day after enrollment (seven days from the date of enrollment
agreement was signed). Whichever is longest as discribed in the Notice of
Cancellation from that will be given to you at “the first class you go to”
After the end of the cancellation period, you also have the right to stop
school at any time, and you have the right to receive a refund for the
part of the course not taken. Your refund rights are described in the
contract. If you have lost your contract, ask the school for a description
of the refund policy.
If the school closes before you graduate, you may be entitled to a refund.

PRIVACY POLICY
Students and former students have the right to their records and privacy of such.
Parents and guardians of minor students also have certain rights regarding their
children educational records. These rights transfer to the student or former student
who has reached the age of 18 or is attending school beyond the high school level.
Students and former students to whom the rights have transferred are called eligible
students.
Parents, guardians or eligible students have the right to inspect and review all of
the students education records maintained by the school. Schools are not required to
provide copies of materials in education records unless, for reasons such as great
distance, it is impossible for parents guardians or eligible students to inspect the
records personally. The school may charge for copies.
Parents, guardians and eligible students have the right to request that a school
correct records believed to be inaccurate or misleading. If the school refuses to
change the records, the parent, guardian or eligible student then has the right to
a formal hearing. After the hearing if the school still refuses to correction, the
parent, guardian or eligible student has the right to place a statement in the records
commenting on the contested information in the records.
Generally, the school must have written permission for the parent, guardian or eligible
student before releasing any information form a student's records. However the law allows
schools to disclose records, without consent, to the following parties

Other schools to which a student is transferring
Parents or guardians when a student over 18 is still dependent
certain government officials in order to carry out lawful functions
Appropriate parties in connection with financial aid to a student
Organizations doing certain studies for the school
Accrediting organizations
Individuals who have obtained court orders or subpoenas
Persons who need to know in cases of health and safety emergencies
State and local authorities to whom disclosure is required by state laws adopted before November 19, 1974
Borner's Barber College may also disclose, without consent, directory-type information such as a student's name, address, telephone number, date and place of birth honors and awards, and dates of attendance. However the student must be informed that this information is designated as directory information and be provided a reasonable amount of time to allow the parent guardian or eligible student to request the school not to disclose that information about them.
All records are kept for a minimum of five years

prescribed by my physician. Also, I agree to submit to a standard
chemical test at any time during my program. If requested to
verify whether or not I am using any such controlled substance drugs.

**On the first day of class bring a valid California identification and proof of education. YOU CANNOT ENROLL IN SCHOOL WITHOUT THESE TWO DOCUMENTS.
REFUND CANCELLATION POLICY
***All refund/cancellation request must be made in writing; whether in person or by mail.***
A student may cancel this agreement at anytime by notifying the school in writing, a “Notice of Cancellation” is provided.
If canceled within five (5) business days prior to or after the start of Class all monies shall be refunded, less an application
fee not to exceed $50.00. Once purchased, equipment becomes the property of the student. The refund to be paid to a student shall
be calculated by deducting the application fee and dividing this figure by the number of hours in the program. The amount owed by
the student for the purpose of calculating a refund is derived by multiplying the total hours attended by the hourly charge for
instruction.
(Course fee divided by course hour's equal's fee per hour times four completed equals educational cost)
Hypothetical Examples: A student who completes 600 hours of a course with educational cost of $10,500.00 will
receive a prorated refund of educational cost, less application fee, as follows $10,500.00/1500=$7.00 per hour x 600 hours=$4,200.00
All tuition refunds will be made (regardless of whether or not the student actually started training) within 45 days from
the first day of cancellation. If the application is not accepted by the school they will be entitled to a full refund.
Any monies due the student will be refunded within 45 days of the last date of actual attendance or the documented date
of withdraw. With the exception of of an application fee. If the school closes or the program is canceled subsequent to
a student's enrollment and before course instruction has begun, or within five (5) business days after the start of class,
all monies shall be refunded. A student absent from school for 14 consecutive days without approval shall be as an unofficial
withdrawal. Your cancellation date is determined by the postmark or date delivered in person. If a student, on a Leave of Absence,
notifies the school they are not returning from leave, that date will become the termination date. If the student does not return
for a Leave of Absence period (not to exceed 60 calender days), refunds will be made within 45 days from the end of the Leave of
Absence. The last date of leave is used as the termination date whichever is earlier. Within 10 days of such refund, the student
will be notified of the amount of refund and to whom refund was made. In special cases such as prolonged illness or death in the
family, the College shall make a reasonable settlement fair to the school and student.

VETERANS CATALOG ADDENDUM
MAXIMUM CAPACITY
The maximum total enrollment capacity for each program session is 18 students.
PRIOR CREDIT
The student and the Veterans Administration will be promptly notified concerning credit
awards to a student for Barber training in another recognized Barber College when the
program has been shortened according to hours earned.
REFUND POLICY
All veterans or other eligible persons who are dropped or withdraw from the program will
have the remaining tuition and fee refunded as described in the college catalog.
Students will be charged at a rate of $4.75 per hour of instruction.
REGISTRATION FEE
The maximum non-refundable registration fee charged to the veterans or eligible person is
$10.00. Any amount charged in excess is subject to the refund policy.
MAXIMUM TIME FRAME
Veterans and other eligible persons must complete the program with in the orininally
contracted length of time.
STANDARDS OF PROGRESS
If at the end of any month, the student's GPA is below 70% or attendance falls below 120
hours, the students will be placed on probation for the next month. If at the end of the
month the GPA remains below 70% or attendance remains below 120 hours. The
veteran's benefits will be interrupted and the VA Office notified.

Theory is held Tuesday and Wednesday throughout the program and practical is held
Tuesday thru Saturday throughout the program. School schedule are six hour days with a half hour lunch period per day; for a total of six and one half hours.

If you cancel, any payment you have made and any negotiable instrument signed by you shall be returned
to you within 30 days following the school's receipt of your cancellation notice.
However, if the school gave you any equipment, you must return the equipment within 30 days of the date
you signed a cancellation notice, if you do not return the equipment (Must none use item only) within
this 30-day period. The school may keep an amount out of what you paid that equals the cost of the equipment.
The total amount charged charged for each item of equipment shall be separately stated. The amount charged
for each item of equipment shall not exceed the fair market value of the equipment. The school is required
to refund any amount over that as provided above, and you may keep the equipment.

Accounts Receivable (Student Payments)
Billing Procedures
1.) It is the responsibility of the student to be aware of their respoective monthly
payments (as stipulated in the Enrollment Agreement).
2.) Student's account must be paid in full before the Director will give clearance to
submit paperwork to the State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology.
3.) Past Due/Late?Delinquent Payments.
*One month late payment meeting with the Director. Where a new payment
arrangment may be made if necessary.
*If no payment is received-must see the college Director. The Director makes
determination for final resolution, suspension, or termination.

Rules and Regulations
All students must clock/sign in when they first arrive. NO STUDENTS MAY CLOCK/SIGN IN FOR ANOTHER STUDENT!!!
Students must speak with the Director before making any changes in their schedule.
Students must notify school prior to absences (except in emergencies).
Students will not sit in Barber Chairs while idle.
Students will work at an assigned staion.
Lunch
Lunchtime in allotted to 30 minutes.
No more than 50% of students may be out to lunch at one time.
Before leaving for lunch, all tools must be properly stored and station cleaned.
Lunch must be taken at their scheduled time.
Students may not leave the premises without permission for an instructor.
This is a smoke Free Facility. No smoking on or around school premises.
If a student is gone for more than 15 minutes or longer without authorization, they will be clocked out for the rest of the day.
STUDENT SERVICES
Students are expected to look well groomed.
Students will get specific permission from an instructor before practicing on each other.
Service times are limited to slow periods.
Customer service supersedes student services.
UNIFORMS
Students will be neat and clean at all time.
Students are required to wear smocks. Smocks are to be clean and wrinkle free at all times.
No open-toe shoes or sandals are permited.
NO BAGGY PANTS OR SHIRTS.
PHONE USAGE
Students are not to use the college phone
Student phones are to be turned off during class.
NO STUDENTS MAY TALK ON PHONE WHILE WORKING ON A PATRON.
BEFORE CHECKING OUT
Students assigned to barber chair WILL GIVE THEIR FIRST ATTENTION TO CUSTOMERS. When there are no customers to
serve the students shall attend to their tools study their textbooks, or practice on mannequins.
Students will lower and lock their chair before leaving and face it in a ready for customer service position.
All personal items will be removed from stands, including chair cloths and smocks.
Students are expected to turn in receipt services for the day.
Students are required to dispose of trash and soiled towels in proper receptacles.
NO STUDENT MAY CLOCK./SIGN OUR FOR ANOTHER STUDENT!!!
Students are resposible for the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of their work area
Tools are to be clean and sanitary and maintained in good condition at all times.
This means
- All stand bottles, including the sterilizer jar, are cleaned and properly filled daily,
- The chair is wiped clean of hair after each patron.
- All soiled linen is disposed of in the proper container and emptied before checking out
- All soiled paper is disposed of in the proper container and emptied before checking out
- All tools are wiped clean and properly stored after each patron.
- The chair cloth is neatly folded and properly hung on the chair after each patron.
- The sink and mirror are cleaned as needed but at least daily, before checking out
Students are to wash their hands with soap and water immediately before serving a patron and are to comply with all provisions
of the sanitary sections of Barber law.
Students shall attend theory class at assigned time.
When in doubt ask an instructor for assistance, or go to the office. Do not ask another student or make the decision yourself.
SUSPENSION

Refusing to serve a customer without good reason.
Disruption in classroom or on floor by being loud and/or argumentative.
Leaving school without authorization

Use of loud, abusive or profane language
Playing cards dice or gambling of any sort on the premises
Demanding tips from customers
FULL SUSPENSION
Causes for full suspension are
Threatening another person with bodily harm
Drinking on the premises or coming to school drunk
Using drugs or being under the influence of drugs
Theft of an others belongings
Police are called due to your actions
Unapproved removal, damaging or destroying of school property.
